Privacy, for young people
What we know about you, and what we do with it.
Your information belongs to you. This page explains how we look after it.
What is this page?
It explains what we know about you and what we do with it, in normal words. You can ask any adult here to read it with you.
What we know about you
The things in your care plan: your name, your birthday, your health, your school, and notes about how you are doing. We write things down so the adults looking after you remember what matters to you and keep you safe.
Who sees it
Only the people whose job is to look after you, your social worker, and people like doctors when you need them. We never put your information on this website, and we never sell it to anyone. Ever.
What you can ask for
You can ask what we have written about you. You can say if something is wrong and ask for it to be fixed. You can ask questions at any time, and someone will answer them properly.
If you are unhappy
Tell any adult here, or use the complaints page to reach people outside the house. Being unhappy about your information is a fine thing to say out loud.
Rowan, the chat helper
Rowan is a computer helper on this website, not a person. Rowan chooses from answers that Rite Directions has checked. What you type is not saved by us. If you use the microphone, your browser may turn your voice into words. Don’t tell Rowan your full name, where you live, or anything private — the adults here are the right people for those things.
