Complaints and safeguarding
If something is wrong, say so. Here is how.
This page is for a child, a parent and a professional alike, in plain language. You will never be in trouble for complaining.
If you are a child or young person
Tell anyone who works here, in whatever way is easiest: talking, writing it down, however you like. You can also go straight to any of the people outside the house listed below. Nobody will be cross with you, and nothing bad happens to you for speaking up.
If you are a parent or carer
Raise it early and raise it straight, with anyone here or directly with the Registered Manager. If you are not satisfied with the answer, or the worry is about safety, use the external routes below. You will never be treated as difficult for asking.
If you are a professional
Contact the Registered Manager in the first instance. Safeguarding concerns go to the local authority routes below without waiting for us, exactly as they would for any provider.
Inside the house
Tell any member of staff, or contact the Registered Manager via hello@ritedirections.co.uk or +44 7930 340022. Every concern is taken seriously, written down, and answered.
Outside the house
Ofsted
The regulator for children’s homes. Call 0300 123 1231.
Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
For concerns about an adult who works with children.
Local safeguarding partnership
For any concern about a child’s safety.
Independent advocacy
Someone who is on the child’s side and nobody else’s, and can speak up with them or for them.
For the current contact details for any of these, ring +44 7930 340022 and we will pass them on straight away.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. That rule sits above everything else on this page.
